Meet Mark Hall and See the Olympic Torch, Saturday, February 1 – 9 am to noon
January 21, 2014. Westerra Credit Union member Mark Hall carried the Olympic torch in Russia on October 27, 2013 as part of the 2014 Olympic Torch Relay from Athens to Sochi. Mark was one of three VISA employees chosen—and the only American out of more than 14,000 torchbearers—to participate in the Olympic relay. VISA is the worldwide sponsor of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Mark carried the torch along an historic street in St. Petersburg and remembers every step. Mark said, “When I got to the middle of the road with the runner approaching to hand me the torch, I knew that in a few seconds, I would be the only person on the face of the Earth holding the Olympic flame. To me, that was an awesome moment.”

Attendees will receive autographed photos of Mark carrying the Olympic torch and are welcome to take their own photographs. Children will receive a free piggy bank!
